Please read these guidelines carefully before preparing and submitting your manuscript.<\/p>\n<h3>Before You Submit<\/h3>\n<p>Check that your manuscript:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Falls within the journal&#8217;s <a href=\"\/aims-scope\">aims &amp; scope<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere<\/li>\n<li>Has the agreement of all listed authors<\/li>\n<li>Complies with our <a href=\"\/publication-ethics\">publication ethics<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Includes all required sections and declarations (see below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Manuscript Preparation<\/h3>\n<h4>File Format<\/h4>\n<p>Submissions are accepted in the following formats: PDF, DOCX, DOC, ODT, RTF, TEX, or TXT. LaTeX users should submit the compiled PDF along with the source files. Maximum file size: 80 MB.<\/p>\n<h4>Language &amp; Style<\/h4>\n<p>Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (British or American, used consistently). Non-native English speakers are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission. Technical terms should be defined on first use.<\/p>\n<h4>Structure<\/h4>\n<p>Research articles should generally follow the IMRaD structure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Title<\/strong> \u2014 Concise, informative (max 200 characters)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abstract<\/strong> \u2014 150-300 words summarising background, methods, results, and conclusions<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keywords<\/strong> \u2014 4-8 keywords for indexing<\/li>\n<li><strong>Introduction<\/strong> \u2014 Context, significance, research questions, objectives<\/li>\n<li><strong>Materials and Methods<\/strong> \u2014 Sufficient detail to allow replication<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results<\/strong> \u2014 Clear presentation of findings with appropriate statistical analysis<\/li>\n<li><strong>Discussion<\/strong> \u2014 Interpretation, implications, limitations, future work<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conclusion<\/strong> \u2014 Concise summary of key findings<\/li>\n<li><strong>Declarations<\/strong> \u2014 Funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, author contributions<\/li>\n<li><strong>References<\/strong> \u2014 Formatted per journal style (see below)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>References<\/h4>\n<p>We accept references in <strong>BibTeX, RIS<\/strong>, or <strong>DOI list<\/strong> format for automated import during submission. The final published version uses a numbered, journal-neutral format. Please ensure all references are complete and cite the primary literature wherever possible.<\/p>\n<h4>Figures &amp; Tables<\/h4>\n<p>Figures should be embedded within the manuscript at their appropriate location, with high-resolution versions (\u2265 300 DPI) supplied as supplementary files. All figures and tables must have numbered captions. Ensure accessibility by including alt-text for figures.<\/p>\n<h4>Mathematics &amp; Equations<\/h4>\n<p>Equations should be typeset in LaTeX format where possible. Inline equations may be written using standard notation. Our system renders equations via MathJax on the published page.<\/p>\n<h3>Submission Process<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Register an account<\/strong> on the journal website (if you don&#8217;t have one already)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Log in<\/strong> and click &#8220;Submit Manuscript&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete the five-step form<\/strong>: metadata, files, authors, references, review &amp; submit<\/li>\n<li>You will receive an <strong>immediate confirmation email<\/strong> with your manuscript ID<\/li>\n<li>Track your submission through your <strong>author dashboard<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Article Processing Charges (APCs)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>We do not charge article processing charges (APCs).<\/strong> Publishing in <em>Sustainable Planet Sciences<\/em> is completely free for authors, regardless of their country or institutional affiliation.<\/p>\n<h3>Licensing<\/h3>\n<p>All articles are published under the <a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)<\/a>. Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the journal right of first publication. Readers may share and adapt published material with appropriate attribution.<\/p>\n<h3>Author Contributions<\/h3>\n<p>We require a detailed author contribution statement following the <a href=\"https:\/\/credit.niso.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">CRediT taxonomy<\/a>. This promotes transparency about each author&#8217;s role in the research.<\/p>\n<h3>Data Availability<\/h3>\n<p>Authors are strongly encouraged to make their data publicly available in a recognised repository. Include a Data Availability Statement in your manuscript specifying where data are accessible or explaining any restrictions.<\/p>\n<h3>Preprints<\/h3>\n<p>We support and encourage preprint posting.
